About Us (FOHH)

The Friends of the Hacienda & Historic New Port Richey (FOHH) is a volunteer non-profit organization that sponsors, promotes and raises funds for projects that support the goals established by its membership. The mission of FOHH is to highlight and celebrate the history of New Port Richey, and to achieve a more vibrant and prosperous community. We are devoted to celebrating the unique history and culture of the City of New Port Richey, its natural beauty, and its many points of interest, including the historic Hacienda Hotel. In addition, we are dedicated to assisting the New Port Richey community by helping to increase awareness and understanding; encouraging community pride and involvement; and by developing events and projects that honor the past while nurturing the future.

The City of New Port Richey is a beautiful and historic township located along the winding river banks of the Pithlachascotee River. In the heart of downtown rests the historic Hacienda Hotel, which was designed to be an exclusive subtropical resort. This crown jewel of the City became a favorite retreat for Hollywood stars and starlets. The 1920s ushered in a parade of famous names to the area including the likes of Thomas Meighan, Irving Berlin, Gene Sarazen, Babe Ruth, June Carter Cash, Johnny Cash, and many more.
